The current generation more commonly known as 'Generation Next' are comprised of individuals born in the 1990s and 2000s. Due to the advancement of technology, learners of this generation have more access to the cyber world than ever before. Technology has given learners many advantages but unfortunately younger learners, specifically those of middle to high school-aged, do not understand how the misuse of technology can create problems for years to come. These generations of learners need an understanding of how demonstrating good digital etiquette or 'netiquette' can affect upward mobility as it relates to employment, admission into college, and promotions.
Through this learning module, learners will develop an understanding of what digital etiquette (also known as ‘netiquette’) is. The intended result is that learners be able to participate in online communities appropriately and learn how others can be affected by inappropriate Internet usage.
